HTC One M10 Vs Apple iPhone 6S Comparison

After a disappointing last year, HTC is eager to make a strong comeback in the densely-populated flagship smartphone market. The company plunged badly in the last quarter of 2015, and took a hard hit from renowned as well as new players in the game. But now, things are likely to change as the Taiwanese tech giant plans to recoup all its losses withnext One series member, HTC One M10 also called theHTC 10!

Initially scheduled for MWC 2016, the launchof HTC One M10 has been delayed quite a few times. It is now coming on April 12, which combined with several rumours clearly suggests that HTCis bringing an immaculate package, something a lot bigger and better than the Galaxy’s, LG’s and MI’s.

Having that said, we can easily deduce HTC One M10 will run on Qualcomm’s latest processor, and will deliver seamless performance to take on leading players, including the mighty Apple iPhone 6S!

No doubt, Apple has its own standard, but the face-off between Apple and HTC will be a close encounter even if HTC loses or Apple wins by a small margin.  To make things simpler, let’s take an in-depth look on their key features and capabilities!

Design Language and Form-Factor

In terms of design and form-factor, Apple iPhone 6s and HTC One M10 both go head to head. The beautiful iPhone 6s, as always, looks a class apart in its beautiful and highly durable 7000 Series aluminium body. The phone bears antenna lines on the back with curved edges, and looks majestic in the all new Rose Gold finish joined with original Space Grey, Silver, and Gold colour options.

On the other side, HTC is bringinga big surprise with One M10. As surfaced in various leaks, the metal clad body of the alleged handset is expected to feature iPhone like aesthetics, with a design that looks very familiar to the original One series. The camera module is circular this time, while an elongate home-button (as seen on One A9) has also been added possibly with a snappy fingerprint scanner. All of this clearly suggests, HTCis taking some pages from Apple’s book but it doesn’t want you to know that!

Display and Visual Experience

As per rumours, HTC One M10 is likely to incorporate a 5.1/5.2-incher Quad-HD display with added screen-protection. The phone will offer a crisp and vibrant visual experience, but there’s still no word whether it will be an AMOLED or an IPS panel. The company has used both in last few years, and can go with any of them.

Apple, on the other hand, boasts a sharp, slim, and attractive, 4.7-inch3D Touch display with a screen resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. It looks extremely weak on paper, but the entire visual experience is just perfect. Nothing more or nothing less, you get a perfect display with rich colour rendering, perfect viewing angles, and most importantly, 3D touch capabilities.

Hardware

Though there are no hardware similarities, the level of performance bundled with One M10 and iPhone 6s is very tempting. HTC is expected to unleash its flagship with Qualcomm’s, latest in the line, Snapdragon 820 SoC, while Apple boasts its faster, better, and snappier A9 dual-core processor with iPhone 6S. Both are different chipsets, but performance is more or less similar.

It also worth noting that HTC One M10 is rumoured to feature 4GB RAM under-the-hood, while iPhone 6s has just updated 2GB. So, on paper, there’s no comparison between One M10 and iPhone 6s, but real life performance will certainly make some difference.

Camera Performance

As for camera performance, the experience of photography goes to a whole new level with iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The latest iPhones incorporate a 12-megapixel sensor, which delivers sharp, vibrant and colour-rich images with perfect contrast levels. The aperture is still f/2.2, but 4k video capture and a bunch of new features make this an exciting package for still photographers.

HTC One M10, on the other end, is rumoured to bring a 12-UltraPixel camera with laser autofocus and an aperture as wide as f/1.9.If true, this will be the fastest-ever camera from HTC, promising lifelike images even in dull and low-light environments!

Battery Backup

No questions here! HTC will give you a bigger and better battery to keep things up and running. Though there are no official announcements for battery backup, we expect HTC to offer at least 3000 mAh with its latest flagship. This combined with company’simproved power-saving features,we can certainly expect the phone tolast more than a day on heavy usage.

On the contrary, Apple packsa much smaller 1715 mAh battery with iPhone 6s.It bears basic usage, but barely lasts an entire day on heavy usage. In a nutshell, you’ll have more juice on HTC to play anything you like, apps, games, music, or even movies!

Pricing

Seeing the present trend where HTC One A9 with Snapdragon 617 costs INR 30k, we do not expect the flagshipto show up anywhere under 50k.There can be some minor changes, but nothing less for sure!

On other side, in the sub-50k category, the 16GB variant of iPhone 6s is available in the market. The 64 and 128 gig variantsare slightly heftier and will cost you a little more than 50k.

Bottom Line

From this face-off, it is pretty evident that HTC’s latest player will pose some serious threats against the mighty iPhone 6s. HTC One M10 has already created a big buzz in the flagship market, and just like Samsung and LG, its official introduction will bring a real treat for tech-savvy users!

Plus, from our perspective, the design, internals, and camera performance of One M10 will play a significant part in defining company’s fate in the highly competitive-yet-lucrative flagship market. It’s long run of losses from the company, which it would like to change soon!
